The power of saying thank you

When was the last time you said thank you to your staff? A proper thank you that is? Also, when was the last time you really said thank you to your customers? Christmas is nearly upon us as is the new year of 2010 and now is possibly the best time when you can say thank you for all the help and business you have done in 2009. To do so will heap many more rewards in 2010. An American psychologist called Martin Seligman discovered how powerful gratitude can be. On one occasion his students held a gratitude party. At this event people were publicly thanked for helping the thanker in some way. This created an amazing positive high in the people that lasted for weeks. Now just imagine what that sort of high might do for your business. You staff will work harder and be more enthusiastic. Sick leave will drop and productivity will rise. Customers will be far more inclined to refer you. Your recommendations and social standing will rise and all because you said two tiny words that can mean so much. "Thank you".
